Friday Favourites: Pink and Matching

A True Love of Mine: High Tea Outfits

So this Friday I want to show you this sweet hot pink pencil skirt I wore out to afternoon tea with my mum. I’m always a fan of dressing up for going out so for me, afternoon tea is a high heels and pretty outfits affair. Hubs and I are madly saving for our upcoming jaunt to Italy (more about that exciting development later!) so I had promised myself no shopping this holidays. Of course, when the hot pink skirt you’ve had your eye on goes for half price, all those promises go out the window.

In case you couldn’t see the shoes in the first picture, I paired the skirt with a cream blouse and these sweet baby blue heels with red hearts. More about these babies later too!

Finally, I had to give you a close up of the colour and the fact that, serendipitously, my nail polish was an exact match. I also had to get my pink ring bling in on the action. Can you blame me? Thought not.

What are you loving this Friday? Just that it is Friday?

Easter Reset: Tagliatelle with Zucchini and Peas

Tagliatelle with Zucchini and Peas

So you ate all the chocolate on the weekend? Now you’re feeling a little soft around the middle and guilty from indulging? Well just stop that right now! There’s nothing wrong with a bit of indulgence now and then and I will certainly not feel guilty about eating bucket-loads of chocolate at Easter, the nominated day of all chocolate eating. But, in case you feel like you need to hit the ‘reset’ button after your Easter splurge, I thought today would be a good day to post my first ever savoury post and help you through it.

Southern Highlands Love: Gumnut Patisserie Brioche Hot Cross Buns

A True Love of Mine: Gumnut Patisserie Brioche Hot Cross Buns

I know that looking at this picture it must be difficult to believe that I don’t really like hot cross buns. I think its the orange peel that is sneakily included in the super fruity ones that puts me off. I think that they should come with a warning label if they’re going to have peel in them. I always have the intention of baking my own custom buns with choc chips and cinnamon instead of currants and peel but somehow I never get around to it. Perhaps because Easter comes at the end of Term 1 which always stretches out interminably and leaves me utterly exhausted at the end. Far too exhausted for adventurous baking.
